On 15 May 2014 the European Commission published following a public consultation , the final opinion on the safety of Poly Implant Prosthesis (PIP) silicone breast implants. An opinion which remained unnoticed and the media have not really echoes, but has deeply shocked the victims of PIP implants. Reaction Rivasi MEP Europe-Ecologie, co-rapporteur of medical devices in the European Parliament folder. SCENIHR (Scientific Committee on Emerging and Newly Identified Health Risks) confirms this view that silicone breast implants PIP have many much higher rupture rate compared to those of breast implants from other manufacturers, but to this day, "no increased health risk was associated with exposure to silicone gel from a PIP implant rupture, compared to a conventional implant another manufacturer. " In conclusion, the text advises women with PIP implants to their implants removed only in case of failure, because there would be, according to the Committee of questionable independence, any medical data, toxicological or other compelling enough to justify systematic and preventive withdrawal of PIP implants that remained intact in their carriers. I join the vigorous protests of the victims of PIP, which emphasize that the recommendation to remove PIP only in case of breakage in fact excludes the 39% of Leak toxic gel by perspiration or crack emanations and oil decomposition PIP gel, which is precisely the source of inflammation, siliconomas and ... all pathologies observed for 4 years, cosmetic surgeons have made extraction / replacement of PIP without breaking.
